Rochester Sweeps Nordiques

The Maine Nordiques took on the Rochester Jr Americans at The Colisee for two big battles between the third place Americans and Second place Nordiques.

The Nordiques would find the back of the net first when Shane Kozlina found the twine just eight minutes into the weekend.

The Nordiques felt good headed into the second period but the Americans would come out with a vengeance, outshooting the Nordiques 14-1 in the frame but Carter Richardson stood tall in net stopping 26/29 shots during the game, the Americans put up just a single goal on the board.

Headed into the third period the game was tightly contested until the Americans went back to back on the scoresheet gaining a two goal lead with less than three minutes left. Nils Forselius would score but it would be much too little too late and the Americans skated away with a 3-2 win.

The Nordiques were looking to take two points from the Americans but two quick goals from the Amerks had the Nordiques thinking twice.

The Nordiques didn’t get on the board until Nils Forselius found the back of the net late into the second frame to make it 2-1 after two. The Americans would score three straight in the third frame and then Chaos ensued as Luke Chappelle, Cole Hipkin and Nick Ramm all simultaneously squared off in a fight.

The Americans would win 7-2.
