Nordiques sweep weekend vs Titans

Weekend Recap

December 1st + 2nd

The Maine Nordiques ended their 7th and 8th consecutive game at home taking on the NJ Titans before hitting the road to take on the Rocester Americans.

Friday:

It was an intense and physical matchup which saw the Nordiques and the titans battle to a scoreless tie after the first highlighted by an unsuccessful Nordiques 5 on 3 power play.

The Titans however would quickly get on the scoresheet just 20 seconds into the frame. The Nordiques however didn’t let that take the wind out of their sails as Nick Bernardo would fire a shot off of David Helledy’s skate and into the back of the net. The Assist would mark his 93rd career point and the most in Nordiques history. The Nordiques would use that momentum and Evan Orloff and Matt Lewis would add back to back tallies before the titans made it 3-2 at the end of two periods. With the Lead in hand the Nordiques wanted to make sure they secured the victory as Shane Kozlina put home a great Nils Forselius pass 4 on 4

Nils Forselius added two more back to back to seal the Nordiques 6-2 victory.

Saturday:

The Nordiques got out to a hot start as Nils Forselius picked up right where he left off finding the back of the net just 3 minutes in.

Adam Moeller and jake Bernadet hunt down a lose puck

Laurent Trepanier would add another before the Titans came back to make it 2-1 after the first. In the second Nils found himself on the scoresheet again when he dished a backdoor pass to Tomek Haula who found the back of the net for his first career NAHL goal just two minutes in.

The Titans would add a power play tally to make it 3-2 after two for the second straight night.

The Nordiques and titans battled until the Titans pulled their goalie and with the net empty Kellen Murphy would seal the deal before Charles Tardif put another one past the Titans goalie for good measure to make it 5-2 giving the Nordiques the weekend sweep!

Next up the Nordiques are on the road before returning home for 3 games to round off their first half of the season.
