The action started with back and forth action and the Nordiques putting the pressure on once they found their groove, outshooting the Hat Tricks by putting 8 shots on net before the Hat Tricks could register their first. The Nordiques found their scoring touch however when Nils Forselius found the back of the net for his 23rd goal of the season to make it 1-0 Nordiques after the first.

The Hat Tricks would respond however midway into the second period before the Nordiques got on a power play and Kellen Murphy would pot his 23rd of the season to put his team back on top. We would see 4 on 4 action closing out the second and the Hat Tricks would capitalize to tie it up at 2 after 2.

Saturday:

The Nordiques were playing in their last regular season home game and with it, looking to make history in setting a new franchise wins record with a victory.

Some fireworks to start the game

Things started chippy as during warmups the officiating crew had to separate the two teams from a scrum at center ice as both squads met up and exchanged words resulting in the Nordiques beginning the game with a power play. The Nordiques power play would quickly become a 5 on 3 and with it Evan Orloff would find the back of the net for the first time in the game. The Nordiques would go short handed but Jake Bernadet would burry his 20th of the season to make it 2-0. The Hat Tricks would pull within one but Evan Orloff would find the back of the net again and David Grosek would add his first of the season to make it 4-1 Nordiques after the first.

The Second Period started with a Zion Green goal that was quickly negated by a Hat Tricks goal but after a fast start to the second, there was no other scoring in the period.

The third period had the Nordiques continuing where they left off and Liam Gilmartin struck 8 minutes into the third period who was quickly followed up by a goal from Kellen Murphy. Over the weekend the Nordiques were backstopped by Carter Richardson who finished with 20/22 saves on Friday and 23/25 saves on Saturday.
