Nordiques split with Hat Tricks, Set Points Record

Mar 19, 2024

The Maine Nordiques hit the road to take on the Danbury Hat Tricks for a weekend matchup.

Friday:

The Nordiques got off to a good start as Nick Bernardo was able to find the back of the net 7 minutes into the game for his sixth goal of the season. Jake Bernadet and Charles Tardif would each add a goal in the second to make it 3-0 Nordiques after two periods of play. That would change however as the Hat Tricks would come out in the third period flying as they recorded two goals to start the period to make it a one goal game. At the halfway mark of the frame, the Hat Tricks would go back to back again and take the lead. The Nordiques pulled goalie Tommy Heaney but it wasn’t enough as the Hat Tricks would take a 4-3 win.

Saturday:

The Nordiques were looking for a key two points but were the victims of a slow scoreless start. The Scoring didn’t happen until the second period however when the Hat Tricks got on the board. It took over ten minutes but Zion Green responded to tie the game up at one and Laurent Trepanier beat the buzzer for his sixth goal of the season to take the 2-1 lead after two. In the third period, Charles Tardif buried one to extend the Nordiques lead. Shane Kozlina would put home another for good measure with just two seconds left in the game and the Nordiques with the win set a new record for most points in a regular season surpassing the 2020-2021 Squad’s 72 with their 74th point

They take on the Hat Tricks at The Colisee on Friday and Saturday for their last 2 regular season home games
