Nordiques pick up point in battle with Generals

Nov 29, 2023

Saturday

The Nordiques had a great Thanksgiving break and were taking on the Northeast Generals for a two game series

The first period started slow but then took a wild turn as the Generals would take a 2-0 lead before Charles Tardif would get the Nordiques on the board. The Nordiques would use that to their advantage and pot two more on back to back goals from a 5 on 3 and regular power play recorded to Evan Orloff and Nils Forselius. The Nordiques would control 3-2 after the first.

The Generals would strike midway into the period to tie it before the Nordiques got a power play and jake Bernadet gave the Nordiques the lead back. It was short lived however as the generals would tie it before the period ended.

The Generals opened the scoring in the third before the Nords had jake Bernadet strike again to tie it. The inital goal in the period by the Generals however would really set the tone and the Nordiques would find themselves down by one with their goalie Tommy Heaney pulled. Nick Skerlick would call a timeout and draw up a play. David Helledy sent one on net from the blue line through a screen and tie it up to force overtime. Unfortunately for the Nordiques however, the generals would strike on their first possession and end the game with the 7-6 win and the two points.
