Maine Nordiques to call Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn, ME Home
AUBURN, ME- The Maine Nordiques NAHL team along with their 3HL team, Maine Nordiques, is thrilled to finally announce their new operational base at the Norway Savings Arena in Auburn Maine. This exciting development marks the beginning of a promising partnership with the arena, aiming to foster a long-term relationship with the Auburn and Lewiston communities. This move is a significant step forward for the teams and the community and will provide the Nordiques with enhanced facilities that will help improve player development, create more opportunities for players to advance to the next level and continue to be a leader in youth hockey development.
Since the new ownership group took over the team, the Nordiques’ fan base has experienced tremendous growth, jumping from 300 fans per game to an impressive 1,800. This surge in attendance is a testament to the ownership’s vision, investment in the team, and dedication to creating a winning culture. Our players and staff have continuously committed to working within the community to build a positive relationship with our fans and give back to our community by visiting schools and participating in service projects. The team has also consistently been one of the top competitors in the NAHL East Division, advancing to the division finals three years in a row and have a proven record for committing players to the next level.
In the last two years, the Nordiques have committed over 35 players to NCAA teams with over 20 players in NCAADivision 1.
The Nordiques are eager to engage with local fans and are anticipating a strong demand for season tickets, especially given the arena’s smaller capacity. This presents a unique opportunity for fans to experience high-level hockey in an electric atmosphere, enhancing the overall game-day experience. With the loyal Nordiques Nation, we expect to reach our sell out point routinely. Additionally, we will be adding a great selection of Nordiques merchandise that will be sold at each game throughout the season.
To support their operations and community involvement, the Nordiques are actively seeking community support in several areas:
Host Billet Families: Families willing to host players, providing a home away from home experience with a monthly stipend.
Team Sponsors: Local businesses and organizations interested in partnering with the team with many incentives.
Volunteer Booster Club Duties: Opportunities for fans to get involved and support the team through various volunteer roles.
Despite the misleading, fabricated, and irrelevant information, that has been speculating around the Nordiques, the Nordiques ownership group is staying committed to what really matters. The Nordiques will be continuing their winning culture while competing in a high-level junior hockey league that excites their dedicated fan base. This year’s returning players and exciting new additions are gearing up for another strong team and continuing to be a top competitor for the Robertson Cup. With a heavy emphasis on fan appreciation, the team looks forward to joining all hockey enthusiasts at the new arena.
Maine Nordiques head coaches Nick Skerlick (NAHL) and Dylan Farrell-Reny (3HL) are eager about the upcoming season and have been working hard to integrate the new Auburn area fan base into the already spirited following of the Nordiques. This partnership promises to enhance the hockey experience for everyone involved, making it a thrilling time for fans and players alike.
The Nordiques’ new home at Norway Savings Arena is more than just a relocation; it is a statement of the team’s commitment to long-term success and to the development of hockey in Maine. The team’s dedication to player advancement, community engagement, and sustainable growth promises a bright future for the Nordiques and the sport. It’s a great day for Nordique Nation!
