Today we take a look at former Maine Nordiques Iggy Belov, Tristan Fasig and Cooper Swift and how their journey’s are shaping up
Tristan Fasig:
Faser first started his Maine Nordiques journey in the 2020-2021 season and led an immediate force on the faceoff circle. Tristan’s key tenacity winning faceoffs and backchecking made him a go-to option in every situation. Tristan also had an ability to find the score sheet recording 26 points in the campaign along with 4 points in the playoffs en route to helping his team secure their first ever East Division Championship. Tristan came back for the 2021-2022 season as an immediate leader on and off the ice. Tristan also earned himself power play and penalty kill time as his work ethic made him reliable in all aspects. In the fall of 2022 Faser suited up in his first NCAA D3 game at Hobart College. He would record 11 points in his freshman season and help his team win their first NCAA D3 national championship. Just Recently, Fasig and the Hobart Crew were able to go back to back and repeat as national champs.
Iggy Belov:
Iggy Came to the Nordiques in the 2019-2020 Season late after a stint in the USHL, He immediately opened up the eyes of fans with his physical style of play and his ability to get to the front of the net. In his first season as a Nordique he was able to record 7 points in 19 games. He then continued his play in the 2020-2021 season with 10 points including 2 in the playoffs to help his team capture the east division title. Iggy’s best season came in the 2021-2022 season when he was able to record 44 points in 59 games to end his junior hockey career. Iggy then went to Hobart College where he was able to find the back of the net 11 times in his freshman campaign en route to the NCAA D3 national crown. Belov didn’t stop there however, as he recorded a career year at Hobart with 37 points in 30 games to help push his team to their back to back titles
Cooper Swift:
The Nordiques needed to bolster their defensive core headed into the 2020-2021 season and with that in mind, they brought in 2-way defenseman Cooper Swift. Cooper brought a calm demeanor to the Nordiques locker room and an eye-opening ability to move the puck up the ice. With the ability to move the puck quickly up the ice and around on the power play, Cooper was able to record 24 points including 20 assists in his lone season with the Maine Nordiques. Cooper then went to Hobart College where in his Freshman season he was able to record 13 assists in 17 games played. Cooper was relied upon more in his sophomore year and was able to record his first collegiate goal in addition to 12 points that season to help his team capture the NCAA title. Cooper has just wrapped up his 3rd season of college hockey where he recorded 13 points in 29 games as the Hobart Statesmen were able to claim their 2nd consecutive title
