NAHL Home Opening Weekend
The Maine Nordiques were witness of a heartbreaker on their home opener as they fell by a score of 5-4. The Johnstown Tomahawks jumped ahead early only for the Nordiques to score four unanswered throughout the next two periods. Goals were scored by Alex Rivet, Trent Grimshaw, Isaiah Fox, and Stefan Owens. Johnstown battled in the third period to score four unanswered goals of their own and the Nordiques late third period push fell short.
Game two of home opening weekend went in the Nordiques favor in another nail biter. Bennett Stockdale put the Tomahawks up again early halfway through the first period. That was all goaltender Connor Androlewicz would give up as the Nordiques shut the door for the remainder of the contest. Kylar Fenton tied the game up early in the second period on a feed from Tyler Harvey and Manny Sanchez. With about three minutes to play Isaiah Fox beat his man down the left side and tucked one home past the Tomahawks net minder to give the Nordiques the eventual 2-1 victory.
The Maine Nordiques are back in action next weekend at home as they take on the Jamestown Rebels all weekend for a three game series. Roll Nords!
