The NAHL team had a 3 game home weekend set with the Jamestown Rebels. On Friday our boys won 4-1 and started the series off strong. Makem Demers had 2 goals and our captain Noah Kane had 2 assists. Marco Duronio saw his first game in the NAHL and he picked up his first victory with it. He was a wall for our boys as he stopped 33/34 shots.
Saturday was a day filled with hockey following the L/A Nords OT win. The Maine Nordiques were unable to pick up the win as special teams were really tested with 207 total penalty minutes in that one. Key forward Kevin Pitts made his return. He would get an empty netter to seal the deal on Sunday, but the Nords would fall 4-2. Jack Strauss and Canon Green each scored for the Nords.
Sunday was the rubber match as both teams looked for the series win. The Maine Nordiques were down 1-0 early in the 1st but they didn’t let that slow them down as the offense was extremely balanced. Only Cannon Green was able to pick up more than 1 point as he had a goal and an assist. Trent Grimshaw was key all weekend long with 4 points including a goal in that one. The Maine Nordiques were back stopped by Connor Androlewicz in a great bounce back win for him, he stopped 28/30 in a 5-2 victory
They boys a home-and-home against the New England Stars and on Saturday the L/A Nordiques thrilled the Androscoggin Bank Colisée crowd with a comeback OT victory! Peyton Hughes scored a clutch goal with 12 seconds remaining in regulation to force it to OT. It took Bradley McMains just a minute into OT to find himself behind the D on a breakaway make a nice move and score to give them the 2 points. On Sunday they traveled to the Stars home and came up just short falling 5-4, On the weekend Sergei Anisimov had 3 assists, McMains had 2 goals and 2 assists. Peyton Hughes had 2 goals and an assist and Jason St Pierre stood tall in net for them all weekend long.
Maine Nordiques Development Program
The U18 Nordiques battled hard throughout the Columbus Day Showcase and picked up a well deserved point in the Beast regular season!
