The Maine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) is proud to announce that face-off master Tristan Fasig has committed to play NCAA D3 hockey at Hobart College.
Tristan Fasig joined the Nordiques organization at the start of the 2020-2021 season and made an immediate impact. Tristan was a player who the coaching staff could rely on, not only to win a key draw but to move the puck and kill off penalties. Tristan Fasig was a Swiss Army Knife of a player and has all the tools in his arsenal to be a threat.
“Fazer” started off as a penalty-kill specialist and a face-off master as he could win draws in all three zones. He impressed the coaching staff on the offensive side and was put on the power-play unit as well. In the 2020-2021 campaign Tristan sported 26 points including fifteen goals, eleven assists, and a +11. Tristan was also a big part in propelling the Nordiques to the East Division crown that season; as he had four points including three goals in the Robertson Cup Playoffs.
In the 2021-2022 season, Tristan returned to the Nordiques as an asset to the squad and was relied on even more to get the job done on the special teams and face-off dots. Tristan easily passed his season, one point total with ten goals and twenty-four assists good for 34 points. He also represented the Nordiques in the East Divisions’ top prospect tournament. Tristan finished with 114 regular season games played with twenty-five goals, and thirty-five assists, totaling sixty career points and three game-winning goals.
When asked about Fazers excellent hockey IQ from General manager, Eric Soltys, “ Tristan is a young man that will have success in his life. His work ethic and overall demeanor/attitude are qualities that are hard to match. “
We wish Fazer all the best in his further hockey career and academically in the classroom!
