Chris Pomerleau

Head Coach & Director of the Nordiques Youth Hockey Program

Chris grew up playing in the Lewiston youth hockey program. He played in travel hockey that took him on trips to Sweden and Alaska on the National team. While playing for Lewiston High School he helped win multiple state championships before joining the United States Navy. Chris is a graduate of Liberty University. He is married to Sarah Pomerleau and together they have three hockey-loving boys, Nicholas, Luke and Gabriel.

After retiring from the Navy, Chris’ return home to Maine led him to youth hockey coaching. He currently holds USA Hockey Level 5. He has spent many years developing youth and was instrumental in transitioning local programs into the ADM model. Chris was the Head JV and Assistant Varsity coach at Lewiston High School. Most recently, as he continued to coach local youth, he was hired as an Assistant Coach for the L/A Nordiques, NA3HL team and has had the privilege of coaching with Cam Robichaud in a successful hockey program.

Chris is the Head Coach for the L/A Nordiques NA3HL and Director of Youth Hockey for the Nordiques youth program. He is also the Community Outreach Coordinator for the NAHL Maine Nordiques. These opportunities allow Chris to continue to carry out his passion for developing youth hockey in our community as he fosters a love for the game and a commitment to player excellence.

John Racine

Assistant Coach & Goaltending Coach

John’s experience as a Goaltending Coach has spanned more than 30 years. He works with all age groups from youth, high school, college and adult levels through the entire state. John not only works with goaltenders – he has had extensive training in Power Skating with many top level instructors. He currently holds a Level 3 certification.

John was previously the head Goaltending Coach for Rousseau’s Hockey Clinics, the Goalie/Assistant coach for the Maine Moose (IJHL) and also spent 8 years coaching St. Dominic Academy. He has worked with goalies at Hebron Academy, Colby College men’s & women’s programs and the Lewiston Maineiacs of the QJMHL where he coached players that have since moved on to the NHL. John has worked with Lewiston High School since 2015 helping the team achieve three straight State Championships.

John is presently coaching with the University of Southern Maine women’s program, the L/A Nordiques (NA3HL) and the Maine Nordiques (NAHL).
