Patrick Schmiedlin commits to Lindenwood
The Maine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League is ecstatic to announce that 3-year Nordique Patrick Schmiedlin has announced his commitment to further his hockey career at Lindenwood University!
Patrick Schmiedlin was no stranger to the Nordiques staff when he arrived in Maine in early 2021. Paddy opened his NAHL career with a bang recording a goal in one of his first few shifts in Maine. Schmeds goal came on the road and propelled his team to a 6-3 victory against the Titans. He finished with 18 points including 11 goals in 30 games in the 2020-2021 campaign and came up big in the playoffs recording 3 playoff points.
The Culver, Indiana native returned for a 2nd season after a stint in the USHL and blossomed into a leader and let his character show. On the ice, he recorded 28 points in 44 games played, including 6 power-play goals. Schmeds was looked up to by first-year players in the locker room and community. Patrick is known for having an outgoing personality and loves to crack a joke with his impressive impressions, and the ability to make a nickname for anyone. Smokes also has fun in the studio and has released music on Spotify and SoundCloud and his songs have become the teams’ anthem in warmups and road trips.
When asked about Patrick Schmiedlin and his development on and off the ice, Head Coach Matt Pinchevsky said of him “ Coming from such a strong hockey family and background at Culver, Paddy can take on and power through all kinds of adversity. I’ve had the pleasure of watching Paddy’s game grow since he was in peewee hockey. Paddy has been a huge asset to our team these past three years, we value his work ethic, spirit, and leadership on and off the ice. “
We wish Patrick all the best next fall, Coach Zombo and his staff were amazing in the process. Nordiques Nation will be keeping a close eye on him!
