The Nordiques and The Black Bears faced off in Piney Orchard Ice Arena in Maryland for game 3; where The Nords just needed 1 win in order to claim The East title and be awarded Beast of the East!

The first 4 minutes of the game showed some great offensive pressure from The Black Bears, but a good push the other way from The Nords put chaos on net when a juicy rebound came right to Andy Noel pinching off his line to find the back of the net and make it 1-0 Nords. The Black Bears would strike back just 5 minutes later tho and make it 1-1 after the first period.

The second period started with a big Nords PK and some good back and forth action in the neutral zone. It took almost the entire 2nd period, but off a set face-off play Stefan Owens won a draw cleanly back to Isaiah Fox who tipped it to Matt Connor and ripped a wrister through traffic and into the back of the net. 2-1 Nords after Second Period.

The Nords started the 3rd period on a good note as “The Sheriff” Jack Strauss would convert on a 2 on 1 to give The Nords some breathing room; 3-1 Nords with 17 minutes left in the 3rd. The Black Bears would then push back, but were stopped by Ty Outen in net. The Nords were then very tight defensively and on the other side of the puck Caden Pattison gave the Nords a 4-1 lead with 5:20 left. The Black Bears would then take a timeout and pull their goalie to try and come back. There was some extra curricular play after the whistle with some penalties that gave The Nords a power play. The Nords would then manage the clock and puck for the rest of the game. The Nords would sweep The Black Bears, Win the East Division Title and are headed to Minnesota to play in the Robertson Cup Final Four!
