The Nordiques were looking to sweep the Generals before the Thanksgiving Holiday and before hitting the road to face the New Jersey Titans in Middletown.
The first period started with the Nordiques on a four minute penalty kill; not even two minutes into the penalty kill the Generals would take a penalty of their own and we would see 4 on 4. The Northeast Generals would score a quick goal just like last night they got on the board first. The Nordiques would then head back to the penalty kill and this time it was successful. After the penalty kill the Generals would make it 2-0 on a rush goal. Just two minutes after Tristan Fasig powered his way behind the Generals defense and would fire a shot that got saved, but Iggy Belov cleaned up the lose change in front to make it 2-1 Generals after first period.
The second period started with another Generals goal to give them a 3-1 lead. After some back and forth the generals would throw a shot on net that was denied by Avery Sturtz, but the puck went up into the air and the Nordiques would get whistled for closing your hand on the puck in the blue paint. The Generals would then get and convert on a penalty shot to make it 4-1. they would add another goal on the power play to make it 5-1.
The 3rd period started with a Brendan Gibbons goal early off a great pass from Kadsen Johnson to give them momentum. The Nordiques would then add one on the power play just two minutes later from Caden Pattison, assisted by Jonny Meiers, who now has 8 points in his last 6 games played. Unfortunately, for the Nordiques, the scoring, and momentum stopped there as the Generals would hold the lead and take the 5-3 win.
Next up for the Nordiques is a road game against the first place Titans on Friday and Saturday.
