The Generals would respond to make it 3-1, but the Nordiques were headed to a power play and had six attackers on the ice. Patrick Schmedlin put home his rebound to get the goal back and Kellen Murphy tipped home a Caid Cox shot to make it 5-1 Nords after two periods. The Generals pulled themselves to within three as they converted on a chance. The Generals would pull their goaltender for an extra attacker 4-on-4 they got themselves a 5-on-4 goal with the goalie pulled to make it close. The Generals would try to set up again when Tony Achillie would take it away and seal the deal with an empty netter. 6-3 Nords win.
